Ex CJI Ranjan Gogoi said, will answer every question after taking oath
New Delhi: Former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha. President Ram Nath Kovind has nominated the former CJI to the Rajya Sabha in a notification issued by the Central Government late on Monday evening.
There has been a storm in the political corridors ever since the news of former CJI Ranjan Gogoi being sent to Rajya Sabha. After all these political talks, now Ranjan Gogoi told reporters that he would answer it after his swearing in ceremony.
Former CJI Ranjan Gogoi talked to Journalists in Assam and addressed that he would be in Delhi on Wednesday. Let me first take oath as member of Rajya Sabha then I will talk to media briefly about this.
Former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has served the country’s top judicial post for 13 months. Ranjan Gogoi became the 46th Chief Justice of India on 3 October 2018. Gogoi retired on 17 November 2019. He gave a historic verdict on the Ram temple on 9 November last year.
After this official announcement, Many politicians including senior Congress leader Kapil Sibbal, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, have questioned the nomination of former Supreme Court Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi to the Rajya Sabha. Sibbal has claimed that Gogoi will be remembered for compromising on the integrity of the judiciary and himself.

Senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that there is a deep attack on the judiciary. It has nothing to do with Gogoi. Faith has been questioned. Questions will arise about perception. If I did wrong then you will also do wrong.
