Engine of Kashi Vishwanath Express goes off track in Delhi

New Delhi: In yet another derailment in the past few weeks, the engine of Kashi Vishwanath Express went off track here at the New Delhi Railway Station.

The accident happened when the train was on its way to the yard, officials said on Saturday. No one, however, sustained any injuries in the mishap.

According to officials, one wheel of the diesel engine of the empty coaching rake has derailed during shunting.

The incident comes as yet another addition to the spate of train derailments in the country, including the goods train derailment near Khandala in Maharashtra on September 7. On the same day, the Shaktipunj Express derailed in Uttar Pradesh and the engine and power coach of Rajdhani Express derailed in the national capital.
