Earthquake of magnitude 4.4 hits Kargil & Leh, Ladakh

New Delhi: In Alchi of Leh, the ground was shaken by the tremors of the Earthquake on Monday morning. According to the National Center for Seismology, the tremors of the earthquake were felt in Alvi, Leh at around 9.15 am.

The magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 4.4 on the Richter scale. So far there has been no news of any loss of life or property. Information from the National Center for Seismology has been received that the epicenter of the earthquake was felt 89 kilometers southwest (SW) of Alchi.

Earthquake in Leh:

According to the information, the tremors of the earthquake were felt in Alchi of Leh when people were busy in morning work. In Alchi, the doors and windows of the houses started shaking and people came out of the houses in fear. According to the National Center for Seismology, there was an earthquake of 4.2 magnitude in Alchi. So far no loss of life or property has been reported due to the earthquake.

It is known that tremors of earthquake are being felt continuously in Leh for the last few months. Earlier on March 25, the land of Leh was shaken by the tremors of the earthquake. Before March, tremors were felt on 27 September last year and again on 6 October. The magnitude of the earthquake at that time was 3.7 and in October was 5.1.
