DRDO develops supplemental oxygen delivery system to help COVID patients

New Delhi: Due to Coronavirus, the demand for oxygen across the country has suddenly increased a lot. People are wandering from UP, Delhi, Rajasthan and MP to Maharashtra and Bengal to demand oxygen.

DRDO supplemental oxygen delivery system:

In such a situation, the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has developed a supplemental oxygen delivery system. This system can be used in the treatment of patients with moderate symptoms of corona virus through oxygen flow therapy.

Earlier on Sunday, the central government said that it has taken the initiative to set up 162 Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants in various health centers of the country.

Railways announced special train for transportation of oxygen:

At the same time, Railways has announced to run a special train for transportation of oxygen. Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that the states are being fully supported for doubling the production of Remedisvir medicine, supplying uninterrupted oxygen and providing Covid-19 vaccine as well as enhancing the health infrastructure.

He informed that the work of setting up 162 PSA oxygen plants in health centers is going on and the 24-hour cell is coordinating with the states. The ministry tweeted, "These will increase medical oxygen capacity by 154.19 MT (MT)."

PSA plants produce oxygen and help hospitals become self-sufficient in terms of their need for medical oxygen. They will also reduce the burden on the national grid for the supply of medical oxygen.

The ministry earlier decided to float a tender for the import of 50,000 metric tons of medical oxygen. In a letter sent to all the states, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla said that in view of the rapid increase in the cases of covid-19 and due to the increasing demand for medical oxygen, a high-powered committee constituted by the Central Government, supplied oxygen for industrial use. Has been reviewed so that the demand for medical oxygen can be fulfilled in the country and people's lives can be saved.
