Trump calls Modi; congratulates him on UP Polls victory

New Delhi: US President Donald Trump on Monday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the BJP's massive win in state assembly elections.

BJP formed majority governments in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and coalition governments in Manipur and Goa. The saffron brigade tasted defeat only in Punjab where the Congress won.

This is Trump's third telephonic conversation with PM Modi after becoming the President of the United States.

Earlier, Modi too had congratulated Trump after he won the US Presidential elections.

Both the leaders have also invited each other to visit their countries.
