New Delhi: On the Indo-China military and the border dispute, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has appealed to the Modi government to respond to China. He paid tribute to the 20 Indian soldiers who martyred in the Gawan Valley. With this he said that the sacrifice of soldiers should not go in vain.

Congress leader and former PM Manmohan Singh expressed displeasure over the martyrdom of Indian soldiers in a clash between the Indian and Chinese soldiers over LAC in Ladakh. He appealed for the country to fight in unity to respond to China. He said that this is the time, the whole nation should unite and give a befitting reply to China's action.
'At this moment, we stand at historic cross-roads. Our government's decisions and actions will have serious bearings on how the future generations perceive us. Those who lead us bear the weight of a solemn duty,' Said Manmohan Singh

Regarding the martyred soldiers, Manmohan Singh said that these sons of the country protected India till their last breath. We are grateful to the soldiers and their families for the supreme sacrifice of these courageous soldiers. Their sacrifice should not go in vain.
The former PM said that today the government's decisions and steps will decide how India's future will be and how the coming generations will assess us. Regarding the Modi government, he said that he has a big responsibility on his shoulders. The Prime Minister should always be very careful about the security of the country and the impact on the worldly and terrestrial interests through his words and declarations.
