This new segment spans from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar, and is a part of the Phase-III of the DMRC network.

New Delhi: The National Capital of India has inaugurated its 9.7-k.m. Lajpat Nagar-Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 corridor of the Delhi Metro's Pink line on Monday. The The line will be open for commuters from 1600 hours from today.

This ambitious project was flagged-off by the Union minister of housing and urban affairs Hardeep Singh Puri and Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia were present at Metro Bhawan Auditorium.

"Passenger services will commence on this section on the same day from 4.00pm," a senior official said on Sunday.

This new segment spans from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar, and is a part of the Phase-III of the DMRC network.

The Lajpat Nagar-Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 corridor has five stations- Lajpat Nagar, Vinobapuri, Ashram, Hazrat Nizamuddin,Mayur Vihar Ph-I and Mayur Vihar Pocket-1.

Among which only a 1.4-km stretch between Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 and Trilokpuri Sanjay Lake stations remain to be linked rest all stations are connected.

Where all the stations are underground, Mayur Vihar Ph-I and Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 is an elevated station, told an offical.

It is to be mentioned that Delhi metro had total Six inaugurations in the year 2018, now the total metro network in the city is 327 kms.
