Delhi-NCR records heavy rainfall, Waterlogging in many areas

There have been heavy rainfall in many parts of the country for the last 2-3 days. Suddenly, the weather took a turn in the night in Delhi-NCR and there has been torrential rain overnight.

New Delhi: There have been heavy rainfall in many parts of the country for the last 2-3 days. Suddenly, the weather took a turn in the night in Delhi-NCR and there has been torrential rain overnight. Due to the rain people have got relief from the heat but the streets of Delhi are flooded. Due to which people are facing problems.

IMD issues alert for two days:

Rains still continue in many areas of Delhi-NCR. After rain in many places, the speed of traffic has stopped due to water logging. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain in Delhi and surrounding areas for the next two days.

Heavy Rainfall in Delhi NCR:

Waterlogging also occurred near the New Delhi railway station. The Meteorological Department of India (IMD) has predicted a cloudy sky with heavy rains in Delhi today. Light to moderate rains may occur over most of Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Rohtak, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Palwal, Panipat and Karnal during the next 2 hours.

Rain still continues in these areas. After heavy rains, an underpass in Delhi's Dwarka area also got waterlogged. However, waterlogging was not visible in New Delhi's Minto Bridge underpass.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert in Delhi regarding rain. Due to water logging after heavy rains, there will be traffic problems. Accidents can happen, so people are warned to take precautions.

This time in August, 72 per cent less rainfall has been recorded so far, which is the lowest in 10 years. The national capital received 37.1 mm of rainfall in the first 12 days of August last year. The city had 56 mm in the same period in 2018.
