The guard, however, was rushed to AIIMS but was declared dead later.

Delhi: Masssive fire breaks out at CGO complex, No causalities

New Delhi: A massive fire, which broke out on the fifth floor of the Pandit Deendayal Antyodaya Bhawan in central Delhi’s CGO complex, on Wednesday morning, claimed the life of a security Personnel working in the building.

The fire was first noticed at around 8.30 a.m., when a short circuit started the fire at the office of the ministry of social justice located in a building, causing a sub-inspector of the Central Industrial Security Police (CISF) to fell unconscious after inhaling the smoke. The guard, however, was rushed to AIIMS but was declared dead later.

The building houses several government offices including a branch of the Indian Air Force, Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, and Ministry of Fores. Earlier it was called 'Paryavaran Bhawan' and is located near Lodhi Road.

According to fire officials, twenty-four fire engines have been rushed to the spot and the fire has been brought under control. Rescue operation is still underway.
