Delhi High Court to hear anticipatory bail plea of Honeypreet on Tuesday

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday will hear the anticipatory bail petition filed by the controversial adopted daughter of jailed Ram Rahim Singh, Honeypreet Insan.

Priyanka Taneja aka Honeypreet tops the list of 43 persons 'wanted' by the Haryana Police in connection with incidents of violence that had followed Ram Rahim's conviction in the rape cases.

The Delhi HC bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal will hear the matter on Tuesday.

Earlier, a lookout notice was issued against Honeypreet by the police.

The Haryana Police has booked all three - Honeypreet, Pawan Insan and Aditya Insan, considered close aides of Ram Rahim Singh, on charges of sedition, inciting violence and criminal conspiracy.

Convicted by the CBI court in Panchkula on two counts of rape of female disciples in 1999, Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment by the CBI court, and a fine of over Rs 30 lakh.

His conviction led to violence in Panchkula and Sirsa in Haryana, leaving 38 people dead and 264 injured. Isolated incidents of violence were also reported from Delhi and several other places in Punjab.
