New Delhi: The thieves in the national capital are so fearless that they have stolen the very famous blue-colour WagonR car of none other than Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from outside the Delhi Secretariat.

The Delhi CM was, however, not currently using the car for daily commutation and had given it to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) media coordinator Vandana Singh for using, said a police officer.

The car, registered in the name of the AAP, was stolen from outside the Delhi Secretariat Gate No 3, he added.

A First Information Report has been filed.

The car had been gifted to Kejriwal by a party supporter. The Chief Minister now uses an official car.

Later in the day, AAP Chief Spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj said "Chief Minister's personal car was stolen today" and added that "there can never be a bigger question mark on the law and order situation (of Delhi)".

Bharadwaj said the Lt. Governor's primary responsibility was to look after the law and order situation of the national capital and check whether the police were doing their duty properly.

He said newspapers were full of reports of thefts and rape in the city and urged the Lt. Governor to make sure that the city became a safe place to live in.

The leader added it would really help the citizens of Delhi if Baijal started concentrating on law and order situation of the city, instead of creating obstacles in the functioning of the Delhi government.

The car had been gifted to Kejriwal by a party supporter. The Chief Minister now uses an official car.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Mandeep Singh Randhawa said, "We have received a complaint regarding theft of a blue colour WagonR car bearing registration number DL9CG9769 from AAP. It was stolen at around 1 pm. The police are examining the CCTV camera's footage of the secretariat and efforts are on to identify the accused person."
