Mumbai: Tata Sons' ousted Chairman Cyrus Mistry, on Wednesday, has been removed from the board of Directors of the Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra), the decision taken at an extra-ordinary general meeting (EGM).

Sources close Mistry said that the decision is not surprising at all because Tata Teleservices like TCS entails a supermajority ownership by the Tata Group currently under the control of Ratan Tata.

Over 93 per cent shareholders of TCS had voted to remove Mistry as a Director of the company in an EGM which was held on Tuesday.

Key Highlights:

  • Tata Industries, earlier, had removed Cyrus Mistry from its board of directors.
  • Several other Tata Group companies are also deciding whether or not to remove Mistry from their respective boards.
  • Tata Sons board had ousted Mistry on October 24 and appointed Ratan Tata as the interim Chairman.
