Cyclone 'fani': PM Modi conducts aerial survey, releases 1,000 cr for aid

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday conducted an aerial survey of severe Cyclonic storm 'fani' affected areas of Odisha and announced a further aid of Rs 1000 crore along with Rs 381 crore released by center earlier.

Modi was received by Odisha governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister Dharmendra pradhan and left to take the stock of the situation and destruction left behind by the cyclone. Modi was accompanied by all the three on his aerial survey of the state.

Earlier in the day, Narendra Modi had held a review meeting along with Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik and officials over Cyclone 'Fani'.
