CRPF officer killed in gun battle in Nowhatta of Srinagar

Srinagar: Pramod Kumar, a commanding Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officer was killed in encounter between security forces and terrorists in Nawhatta area of Srinagar district in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning.

According to unofficial sources, terrorists attacked at around 0800 hours and nine others including a police officer were injured in the attack.

It may be mentioned that terrorists attacked while Prime Minister Narendra Modi was delivering his Independence Day speech from the Red Fort.
