Coronavirus: India reports 8,774 new cases, 621 deaths in the last 24 hours

New Delhi: Today, 8,774 new cases of corona infection have been reported from across the country and during this time 621 patients have died, after which the death toll due to infection has increased to 4,68,554 in India.

The Union Health Ministry said that the active patients of corona virus in the country have gone up to 1.05 lakh at present. According to the ministry, in the last 24 hours, 9481 people have also been cured of infection across the country, after which the number of people who have been cured of corona so far has gone up to 3,39,98,278.

The Health Ministry said that the total number of active cases in the country is currently 1,05,691, which is 0.31 percent of the total cases. This figure of active cases is the lowest since March 2020. At the same time, the daily positivity rate in the country is 0.80 percent, which is less than 2 percent for the last 55 days. While the weekly positivity rate is 0.85 percent, which has remained below 1 percent for 14 days. The Health Ministry said that the recovery rate in the country has now gone up to 98.34 percent.

Vaccination Drive in India:

At the same time, if we talk about the data of corona vaccination, so far more than 121.94 crore doses of corona vaccine have been given in India. On Saturday, more than 82,86,058 lakh people were given vaccine doses across the country. According to the government report, the total vaccination figure in India has now gone up to 1,21,94,71,134.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that more than 135 crore doses of Corona Vaccine have been given to the States and Union Territories so far. The ministry informed that so far 1,35,94,88,700 doses have been provided to the states and union territories through all sources.

The central government is supplying 75 percent of the vaccine doses being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country free of cost to the states and union territories. According to the data released today, more than 22.83 crore (22,83,05,346) covid vaccine doses are still available with the states and union territories, which are yet to be implemented.
