Coronavirus: India logs 3,47,254 new COVID-19 cases, 703 deaths in a day

According to the data released by the Ministry of Health on Friday, more than 700 people died due to corona in the last 24 hours.

New Delhi: The cases of Corona and Omicron are increasing continuously in the country. More than 3 lakh cases have been registered in the country for the second consecutive day. After May 15, on Thursday, the total number of infections crossed 3 lakhs for the first time in a single day and the same situation remained on Friday as well. There is also a steady jump in the new case of Omicron variants.

According to the data released by the Ministry of Health on Friday, more than 700 people died due to corona in the last 24 hours. 703 people died in a day in the country. Whereas 9,692 cases have been reported in the country after an increase of 4.36 percent in the cases of Omicron variants compared to yesterday.

There have been 29,722 more cases in the country than yesterday, 3,17,532 cases of corona virus were reported on Thursday. In the last 24 hours, 3,47,254 new cases of corona have been reported.


Maharashtra has recorded the maximum number of cases in India. In the last 24 hours, 46,197 new covid cases have been reported, which included 125 cases of Omicron. 37 deaths and 52,025 recoveries have been recorded here. At present, active cases in the state are 2,58,569.

The number of corona cases in the country has crossed 3 lakh for the second consecutive day. According to the data released by the Ministry of Health on Friday, 3,47,254 new cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours. However, 2,51,777 patients have also been cured during this period. The number of active cases has crossed 20 lakhs. The positivity rate has increased to 17.94%.

The Union Health Ministry said on Thursday that till Wednesday, a total of 70,93,56,830 Kovid samples have been tested in the country. Out of these, 19,35,180 samples were tested in the country on Wednesday.
