Congress Veteran Ahmed Patel passes away after battling covid-19

New Delhi: Congress veteran and Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Patel died early Wednesday. Ahmed Patel was infected with Corona in October and was undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. During treatment, many of his organs stopped working and eventually he succumbed to multi organ failure. Ahmed Patel's son Faisal Patel in his tweet informed the father's demise.

The demise of Ahmed Patel, the treasurer of the Indian National Congress and eight-time MP, is being considered a major setback for the Congress. 71-year-old Ahmed Patel was also considered very close to the Gandhi family. Ahmed Patel's son Faisal wrote in his tweet, "I am very sad to inform that my father Ahmed Patel died early today."

According to Faisal, his health continued to deteriorate. After several organs stopped functioning after being found corona infected about a month ago. He died at three thirty on Wednesday morning due to multi-organ fluor. Faisal has also appealed to the people to follow the Corona Guideline and avoid overcrowding.

Ahmed Patel was infected with Corona on October 1 and then he informed everyone about his own corona positive through tweet. He also appealed to those who came in contact to isolate themselves. After this, he was continuously being treated, but his condition could not improve much.

The demise of Ahmed Patel is considered a major setback for the Congress as he was counted among the trusted leaders of the Congress. He was considered very close to the Gandhi family and Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi always consulted him on important issues. He was considered a master of politics and on the basis of this he was a member of Parliament eight times. Ahmed Patel won the Lok Sabha elections thrice while he was a Rajya Sabha MP five times.
