Congress releases list of 63 candidates for Uttarakhand assembly elections

Congress Party, on Sunday, released the list of 63 candidates for Uttarakhand assembly elections. The polling for 70 constituencies will take place on February 15 in a single phase.

New Delhi: Congress Party, on Sunday, released the list of 63 candidates for Uttarakhand Assembly elections.

The polling for 70 constituencies will take place on February 15, in a single phase.

The candidates were elected at a high powered Central Election Committee meeting at 10 Janpath in the national capital on Saturday.

The meeting that lasted for over two hours was attended by senior party leaders, including Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat, state chief Kishore Upadhyay and state party in charge Sanjay Kapoor.

After the meeting, the three leaders had another meeting in a room at Uttarakhand Sadan in Delhi.

Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had released the list of 70 candidates in two instalments – first of 64 candidates on January 16 and second of 6 candidates on January 22.
