Coach of Howrah bound Kalka Mail catches fire, six hospitalised

Fire broke out in front of the SLR (Seating cum Luggage Rake), next to the locomotive of Howrah-Kalka Mail between Dhirpur and Dhonda Khedi station around 0255 hours.

Kurukshetra: A fire broke out in the front coach of the Howrah-bound kalka Mail near Kurukshetra in Haryana.

Six passengers were hospitalised as they were having problem in breathing.

The situation, however, was taken under control immediately.

Northern Railway spokesperson said, "Fire broke out in front of the SLR (Seating cum Luggage Rake), next to the locomotive of Howrah-Kalka Mail between Dhirpur and Dhonda Khedi station around 0255 hours."

As soon as the fire erupted, the loco pilot immediately stopped the train and detached the particular bogie. This prevented the fire from spreading into other coaches.

The passengers of the SLR coach were shifted to other coaches as the train resumed its onward journey without the SLR.
