CBI Special Court awards capital punishment to Koli in Nithari muder case

Ghaziabad: The Special court of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) awarded capital punishment to Surender Koli in Nithari serial murder case on Friday .He was also fined Rs 30,000 for the murder of Nanda Devi who was one of the victims.

Koli has been held guilty in five other cases as well. The 25-year – old , Nanda was a domestic help who was found missing on October 31, 2006. Her decomposed body was recovered later along with 19 skulls and bones of some others later.

After the recovery, cases were filed by the CBI which closed three cases against him for lack of evidence. In all ,16 cases were filed against him. Nanda’s devi’s case was the sixth. He has been made an accused in 10 other cases which are yet to conclude.

All these cases came to light only after deep searches and missing complaints made by Nithari residents near Delhi. Many children and women were reported missing from the area. Their bodies ,skulls and bones were later taken out from pits and tanks. Koli and some others were accused in all these cases of murder.
