Bhubaneswar: As many as 21 people were killed and 25 others injured on Friday morning when a private bus fell 50-ft off a bridge at Manitri area near Odisha’s Angul district.

Five persons who were seriously injured rushed to a nearby hospital.

Among those killed were four college students and women.

“We have received a report of about 15 deaths in the accident. The bus carrying around 50 passengers was going from Boudh to Athamallik. We have deployed several ambulances. We are also considering using air-ambulance for transporting seriously injured ones,” said Anil Samal, District Magistrate of Angul.

As per eye witnesses, the bus was overloaded due to which drive lost control.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed grief over the accident.
