Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati who has faced revolt by some senior leaders is facing party workers' rebellion now for selection of B P Singh Verma as a party candidate for upcoming assembly election in Uttar Pradesh.

The workers are agitated because Verma had played a role in infamous guest house scandal and did not deserve to be considered for the party ticket.

He is suspected to have put off the lights in the guest house, joining hands with Samajwadi Party workers who had surrounded the guest house and misbehaved with her . They were angry because she had withdrawn support from the SP-led government which had led to its resignation.

Some letters have been also sent in this connection to her . Another allegation made against him is that he is close to a rival party leader Beni Prasad Verma who was instrumental in his promotion as chief development officer in a block in Barabanki district. Mayawati is yet to react.

The guest house incident had taken place in 1995.
