Bomb threat at Kanpur Central creates panic
Kanpur: A bomb threat at the Kanpur Central station triggered panic amongst Railway officials late on Tuesday night. The threat was received on the official Twitter account of Railway Headquarters IG Lucknow.
After receiving the threat, GRP, RPF and BDS teams along with district police reached at the station and launched an intensive checking of all the platforms and trains.
After the bomb menace on the Twitter account, the Kanpur Central station's control room also received a threat call claiming to blow the station with a bomb blast. The officials thoroughly checked the railway station as well as the suspected people present on all the platforms.
Informing about the incident, GRP CO Ram Krishna Mishra said, "A threat message of blowing a train was received in the inbox of Twitter account of the Police Headquarters IG Lucknow late on Tuesday night. The information was immediately conveyed to the control room in Allahabad."
"Subsequently, all the trains at the Kanpur Central station were thoroughly checked and only then were allowed to proceed," added Mishra.
