Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurates 27 power substations

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday promised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will shut down “illegal slaughterhouses” in West Bengal if it is voted to power in the state.

“Bengal cannot be sacrificed to the politics of appeasement. Cow smugglers are encouraged in Bengal. This is akin to playing with the nation’s faith. In Uttar Pradesh, nobody can kill cows. We will shut down all illegal slaughterhouses in Bengal within 24 hours of coming to power,” Adityanath said in his address to BJP supporters in Malda, which has the second-highest Muslim population (51.27 %) in the state.

Adityanath accused chief minister Mamata Banerjee of indulging in the politics of “appeasement” while ignoring the nation’s security and depriving the masses of the Centre’s welfare schemes.

CM Yogi raises Love Jihad, cow smuggling:

“’Love jihad is being executed here [West Bengal]. We made a law in Uttar Pradesh. But there is appeasement politics here [West Bengal]. So the state government is unable to stop cow smuggling and love jihad. In addition, which are dangerous activities that will show results in the time to come,” Yogi Adityanath said.

Yogi Adityanath said, “Durga puja gets prohibited in Bengal today, cow slaughter is forcefully started during Eid. People’s sentiments are being toyed through cow smuggling, but the state government remains silent. Now, it has attempted to ban the slogan ‘Jai Sri Ram’ and attacks are being executed,” said.

Hitting out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her party the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Yogi Adityanath said, “I’d like to tell the Bengal government and request Mamata didi that there was a government in Uttar Pradesh that used to fire bullets at lord Ram devotees in Ayodhya. You can see the condition of that government now. Now, it’s the TMC government’s turn in Bengal.”

Targeting the TMC-ruled government in West Bengal, Yogi Adityanath said, “West Bengal has always been a land of cultural nationalism in India. It has been the land of the revolution for India’s freedom struggle. Today, it hurts us, the entire country, when we see an environment of anarchy here.”
