Lucknow: A delegation of Bhartiya Janata Party met the Chief Election Officer of poll bound Uttar Pradesh, T. Venkatesh, on Friday and handed over a letter of complaint against the Samajwadi Party regarding its biased attitude towards the elections.

There are certain officers whose kin are contesting elections on SP tickets, stated the delegation members.

According to the BJP, " Some relatives of influential police officers have been given tickets by the SP from several assembly seats of the states. This could disrupt the impartial proceedings of the polls."

  • A delegation led by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi met the CEO at 1230 hours.
  • The delegation handed the letter of complain to T Venkatesh.
