Do not get swayed away by opposition criticism; PM to partymen
New Delhi: Asking Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to ignore the storm of attacks by the opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday directed party to keep the momentum alive over demonetisation.
PM Modi had chaired the BJP Parliamentary Party executive meeting on Monday in which he asked party leaders to move forward with centre’s policy without being affected by the opposition, said sources. “The nation has welcomed the move,” said PM Modi.
The meeting was attended by Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar.
PM Modi’s bold message came in the aftermath of the bombardment of criticsm by Bahujan Samaj Party, Aam Aadmi Party, Congress, Shiv Sena, Samajwadi Party and Mamta Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress following scrapping of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes.
It could be mentioned here that cash withdrawal limit from ATMs has been increased to Rs. 2,500 while withdrawal from banks is hiked to Rs. 24,000.
