BJP issues showcause notice to Vijayvargiya for thrashing a govt officer
Mumbai: Coming down harsh on its Indore MLA Akash Vijayvargiya, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday issued a showcause notice to the leader for pulling out a stunt of thrashing a Municipal officer with a cricket bat last week.
As per reports, Madhya Pradesh BJP chief Rakesh Singh received a call from a senior party leader in Delhi regarding this matter. News of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and senior BJP leader Ramlal calling Rakesh Singh to hold discussions over this matter are also circulating.
On Tuesday, News of Akash suspension were making rounds ahere it was said that state’s party unit is planning to take strict action against Akash for his misbehaviour in public. According to sources MP BJP unit had held discussions with the party high command over Akash’s matter, where, some other names of BJP leaders also came into light who may also face action for supporting Akash. It is to be mentioned that even his release on the bail in connection with this case the BJP leader, Akash was welcomed by his party’s Indore unit.
What made the BJP leader take the note of the incident and flung them into action was when Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his anger over the incident and condemned such incidents in harsh words.
On Tuesday, addressing the BJP Parliamentary Board meeting in New Delhi, PM Modi had said, “Such people should be expelled. This type of behaviour cannot be tolerated. Being the son of a politician does not give anyone the right to do whatever he wants.”
Son of the senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, Akash hails from a very strong political background. And is MLA from Indore himself.
Akash was arrested by Indore police after he thrashed a Municipal officer with a cricket bat while protesting against the demolition of a building which was to be demolished by the officer under anti-encroachment drive.was caught on camera. The young BJP MLA had spent four days in jail before being granted bail. To get their leader out of the jail his many supporters created ruckus outside and demanded that their leader be freed because he had been wrongly jailed.
Justifying his misbehaviour, Akash alleged that he was left with no option but to hit the public official. “I hope to God that no such situation arises again that I will have to come out and bat once again,” he had said after coming out of jail.
