New Delhi: Lt General Bipin Rawat and Kargil war veteran Birender Singh Dhanoa have taken charge as the new Indian Army chief and air force chief on Saturday.

Both came on an honorary post replacing former army chief Dalbir Singh and former air force chief Anup Raha respectively.

Earlier, in the day on Saturday, Dalbir Singh, paid tributes to martyrs at Amar Jawan Jyoti. Dalbir retired after 43 years of service.

Dalbir, who retired after 43 years of service, thanked Centre for allowing him to conduct free hand operations. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for granting ‘One Rank One Pension’.

What else Dalbir said?

  • Indian Army is fully prepared and well trained to tackle any challenges, be it external or internal.
  • I strongly believe that actions must speak louder than words.
