Bihar IAS officer allegedly commits suicide in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: Mukesh Pandey, a 2012-batch IAS officer from Buxar district in Bihar, allegedly committed suicide by throwing himself in front of a train in Ghaziabad on Thursday.

A suicide note, written in English language, was also recovered from the spot in which it was mentioned that Pandey was fed up with his life and lost his "belief on human existence".

The Government Railway Police (GRP), who launched the initial probe, identified him as the Ghaziabad District Magistrate Mukesh Pandey with the help of his identity cards found from the spot.

The GRP quoted the note saying that the deceased wanted his relatives - Rakesh, Utkarsh and Poonam, to be informed.

Pandey also wrote that he was staying at the Lila Palace (hotel) in room Number 742. The note further said that he had left a detailed letter in his suitcase.

The dead body has been sent for an autopsy.

"A police team will unlock the room and retrieve the detailed suicide note. Further legal action would follow. The family has been informed," said Randhir Singh Deputy Superintendent of Police, GRP, Ghaziabad.
