Buxar: A major mishap was averted on Monday as the Railways stopped commutation of the trains on the track here after an explosion was reported near Buxar station on Mughalsarai-Patna section.

The blast took place at 12.05 pm, however, no harm either to the property or life was reported in the incident.

According to the sources, a passenger travelling from Down Upper India train had thrown the bomb on the tracks, which exploded and was loud enough to be heard till Golambar here.

The sources further added that the blast could not cause any damage to the track but the department has ordered an enquiry into the matter.

Commenting over the incident, Indian Railways spokesperson Anik Saxena said, "PWI/Buxar informed at about 12.10 hrs that a bomb blast occurred between Buxar-Baruna near Down line at about 12.05 PM."

"Down movement on the route has been blocked. Up movement will be done by issuing caution order to 12487 ex Buxar. As a result of blast, three express trains 12141, 12402, 14004 have been detained," he added.

Local thana, GRP, RPF have been informed about the matter, Saxena said.
