Bihar: A minor who escaped rape shot dead under police security

A Dalit minor, who escaped from the accused who was trying to rape her, was shot dead. The victim was allegedly shot by a group of four youths who tried to rape her on Sunday. Despite of the police  given to the victim, the accused executed the event and escaped.

Lucknow: A Dalit minor, who escaped from the accused who was trying to rape her, was shot dead. The victim was allegedly shot by a group of four youths who tried to rape her on Sunday. Despite of the police given to the victim, the accused executed the event and escaped.

The case is of a village in Rohtas district of Biharunder.

Local police said, "On Sunday, four accused were arrested who tried to rape a minor. The injured girl has been admitted to a hospital in Jamuhar where her condition is stated to be out of danger. The minor was also shot despite the presence of a police team led by a senior officer. This has once again intensified the debate of women safety in Bihar".

Angry villagers burnt accused's house

On Sunday, the girl was given police protection after an attempted gang rape. Angry villagers burnt the house of one of the accused the next day. The victim's father took the names of three people, although no FIR has been lodged against anyone over the shooting incident.

According to reports, the rape effort by the youth led to tension in the entire village. Protestors attacked the houses of the accused belonging to a particular community. Rohtas SP Satyaveer reached the village after getting information and took control of the situation.

Police said, "All the accused have been arrested and a minor medical examination was done on the same day".

The statement of the victim has also been recorded in the court under Section 164 CrPC.
