Bharat Bandh: Arvind Kejriwal under 'House Arrest', Delhi Police denies

The Aam Aadmi Party supported the Bharat Bandh called by farmers against the agricultural law. The AAP says that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been placed under house arrest.

New Delhi: In protest against the agricultural laws of the central government, farmers have called for a Bharat Bandh today. 11 political parties have supported the farmers.

Demonstrations have been taking place in support of farmers from UP to Bihar and Delhi to Punjab. Trains have been stopped in several states including Odisha, UP and Maharashtra.

However, the farmers' organizations have talked about the chakka jam from 11 am to 3 pm. In view of the Bharat Bandh, the Ministry of Home Affairs had issued advisory a day before and asked the states to make adequate security arrangements.

Delhi CM Kejriwal under 'House Arrest':

The Aam Aadmi Party supported the Bharat Bandh called by farmers against the agricultural law. The AAP says that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been placed under house arrest.

Ever since Arvind Kejriwal returned from the Indus border, the situation of house arrest has been maintained.

The Aam Aadmi Party said that security has been increased outside the house and is no longer allowed to go out, due to which all the meetings of Delhi CM have been canceled.

The impact of the Bharat Bandh is seen in different states. In Bengal, the trade union took out a march in support of the farmers, while in Darbhanga, Bihar, RJD workers blew tires against the law.

In view of the Bharat Bandh of farmers, security has been increased in different states, Bihar has tight security and action has been directed against those who violate law and order. Police are deployed in view of the bandh on the Indus border of Delhi. Also, political parties have taken to the streets in different states of the country.
