Coal Scam: CBI reaches Abhishek Banerjee's home, interrogates his wife

A team of Central Bureau of Investigation had earlier reached the residence of Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee.

New Delhi: The Trinamool Congress difficulties may increase in the coal scam. The CBI team has reached her house to interrogate Rujira Banerjee, wife of TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee. Earlier this morning, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee went to his house to meet Abhishek.

CBI Team reaches Abhishek Banerjee House:

As soon as he comes out, now the CBI team has filed. On Monday, summons was issued to Abhishek Banerjee's wife in the coal smuggling case. According to CBI sources, Abhishek has not yet been summoned. After questioning Narula, Abhishek can be summoned soon.

Ruckus in Bengal after CBI action:

The CBI action has created a ruckus in Bengal politics. The Trinamool Congress has called it a political vendetta. After receiving the notice of CBEI on Monday, Abhishek Banerjee said that he had full faith in the law of the country. He also said that an attempt is being made to intimidate him using these tactics.

What is the Case?

According to sources, Rujira's role has been revealed in some statements of witnesses and suspects. During investigation, the CBI has come to know that there have been some transactions in the account of Rujira's company, whose wires are directly connected to the coal scam. Let me tell you that Abhishek Banerjee started a 'Leaps and Bounds Management Service' firm in the year 2010 in the name of his mother Lata. This company was registered on 4 May 2011.

In 2013, the CPI-M also alleged that with the help of Mamata Banerjee, Abhishek used his firm in the Ponzi scheme. It is also alleged that within a few years the turnover of this firm reached 300 crores.
