Washington: In a bid to boost the economic ties between India and America, President Barack Obama wants to meet the state chief ministers in India. America has kept forward a proposal to organize a Chief Minister Conclave for promoting economic ties between the Indian states and America’s private sector firms.

Conclave’s Motive:

  • Through this conclave, America’s private sector firms will get to know about various business opportunities prevailing in different Indian states
  • States can kept forward various initiatives taken by Modi government for doing business with ease
  • White House has released a ‘fact sheet’ in this regard
  • The date and venue for the conclave is undecided yet

US waiting for India’s reaction:

  • India has not given its nod over the proposal for such a conclave
  • Various Chief Ministers visit US to lure entrepreneurs to invest in their state
