Ban on Drones in Srinagar after Jammu Air Force Station attack

An official statement issued on Sunday said that the use of flying objects in Srinagar is being banned with immediate effect in view of security following the recent drone attack on the Air Force station in Jammu.

Drones Spotted 

New Delhi: After Kathua, Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir, the administration has also banned the use of drones and other flying objects in Srinagar.

An official statement issued on Sunday said that the use of flying objects in Srinagar is being banned with immediate effect in view of security following the recent drone attack on the Air Force station in Jammu.

Ban on drones in Srinagar:

According to the order, the possession of any kind of drones or other Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) will be prohibited. The administration has said that those who already have such devices, submit them to the nearest police station.

Srinagar District Magistrate Mohammad Aijaz said in his order that this decision has been taken after the recommendations of the SSP. Possession/sell/collection, use or transport of drones or similar UAVs will be prohibited in the district. Government departments that use drones will have to inform the local police station before doing anything like this.

Drone Attack:

Earlier, in an order issued by Kathua District Magistrate Rahul Yadav, it was said, 'It has been observed that the use of small drone cameras for taking photos and making videos in social and cultural functions has increased.

Anti-national elements can use drones and flying objects to create risk, harm to human life in parts of Jammu and Kashmir. That is why such drones are being banned in Kathua.

Senior NIA officials reached the spot on Thursday after taking over the investigation of the Jammu drone attack. Although the agency's superintendent level officials kept visiting the site of the blast from day one, but now the investigation has officially started.
