UP ATS arrests Babbar Khalsa member Balwant Singh in Lucknow

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Wednesday arrested Balwant Singh, who is an active member of terrorist group Babbar Khalsa, from Aishbagh area here.

Balwant Singh was arrested from Nadan Mahal road in Aishbagh area by the UP ATS after receiving tip off from the Punjab Police.

Balwant is a wanted criminal in several cases at the Mukandpur Police Station in Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar, Punjab.

Meanwhile, Balwant's partner is on the run and a joint team of Punjab Police and UP ATS is after him.

Punjab Police will take him in transit remand. Balwant's brother Sukhdev Singh is in Gujarat's Sabarmati jail since 2010.
