New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday slammed the central government for decreasing the disability pension for soldiers.

After a draft notification was uploaded over Defence Ministry's website, Kejriwal took to the micro-blogging website Twitter to tag the government's move as 'very wrong'.

He said, "This (decreasing disability pension) is very wrong. Our soldiers deserve better. I urge centre to increase disability pension and not decrease it."

The decision has been taken on the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, which when it comes into effect, will significantly reduce the disability pension for soldiers.

As per the latest notification, the present percentage-based disability pension system will change to a slab based system, which will significantly reduce the amount of pension.
