Arunachal: PM inaugurates and lays foundation of projects worth Rs 4000 crore 

Itanagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Assam, on Saturday, after addressing a public rally in Arunachal Pradesh, during his two-day Northeast tour, ahead the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. PM Modi is scheduled to visit Tripura to address another rally in Agartala.

During his visit in Assam, Modi assured the crowd that the Citizenship Bill, which has triggered protests in the state, will not pose any problem to them.

Earlier on Saturday, the PM had inaugurated several projects and laid foundation stones of many important schemes worth over Rs 4,000 crore for Arunachal Pradesh at an event.

Modi laid the foundation stone for construction of greenfield Airport at Hollongi and inaugurated a retrofitted airport at Tezu in Lohit district through a remote.

He inaugurated the new Doordarshan channel for Arunachal Pradesh, DD Arun Prabha.

The prime minister also dedicated to the nation the 110 MW Pare Hydroelectric Plant and laid the foundation stone for a permanent campus of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) at Jote.

The prime minister inaugurated 50 health and wellness centers in the state also through remote at the function at Indira Gandhi Park here.

While addressing the public, Modi said, "In the recent budget, we increased the budget by more than 21% for the north-east. This shows our commitment to the north east."

Amidst the citizenship row, PM Modi was shown black flags by the youth of Assam as he reached there on Friday.
