Army is directed to kill enemies before they launch firing: Parrikar

Panaji: Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said that he has given clear orders to the Indian armed forces to launch firing before giving someone else the chance to do the same.

“My clear directions are if someone comes with machine gun to fire on you then finish him off before he does,” said Parrikar at the BJP’s Vijay Sankalp Meet here.

Launching a fresh salvo at Congress, he said:

  • Those speaking about nation's security did not provided forces with new artillery.
  • They looted the nation for past 30 years.
  • After Bharatiya Janata Party came to power, Light M777 howitzer, which is light-weighted and can be used in Arunachal and hilly areas, got approved four days ago.

Earlier, Parrikar had said that India is a responsible nation and will never use nuclear power irresponsibly.
