New Delhi: Today, the Indian Army is celebrating its 73rd Foundation Day. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, President Ram Nath Kovind, gave their message to the brave soldiers.

President Kovind tweets on Army Day:

President Ramnath Kovind tweeted, "On Army Day, congratulations to the brave men and women of the Indian Army. We remember the brave who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation. India will always be grateful to the courageous and committed soldiers and their families.

Let me tell you that in the year 1949, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army

held by KM Cariappa. He was awarded the Field Marshal's Five Star Rank. Started job in the British Indian Army at the age of 20. January 15 is celebrated as Army Day in memory of the first Chief of Army Staff of independent India.
