Armed assailants kill GRP personnel on running train in UP

Chandauli: Some unidentified armed assailants fired at two Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel aboard Mugalsarai-Buxar DMU passenger train on escort duty, killing one of them, on Friday night around 2200 hrs.

The incident:

• The incident took place when the train reached Pawani halt station in Chausa.
• Some anti social elements opened fire in which GRP constable , Abhishek Singh, was killed while another Nandlal Yadav sustained serious injuries.
• “The killers managed to escape and a manhunt has been launched to nab them, ” said Rajesh Kumar, Sub-inspector, GRP, Mugalsarai.
• The killers were more than six in number, he added.
