New Delhi: The country is going to complete 75 years of its independence on 15 August 2022. In such a situation, the Government of India is celebrating the 'Amrit Mahotsav of Independence' program. This program, which will run for 75 weeks, is going to start from the Sabarmati Ashram of President Mahatma Gandhi today.

PM Modi inaugurated cultural and digital programs related to 'Independence of Amrit Mahotsav'. Along with this, he will also address the people present in the Sabarmati Ashram. Today is the day chosen for this beginning because on this day President Mahatma Gandhi started the Dandi March. The Prime Minister will also flag off a padyatra from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, which will go to Navsari's Dandi.

PM Modi said that whether we Indians have lived in the country or abroad, we have proved ourselves with our hard work. We are proud of our Constitution and democratic traditions. India, the mother of democracy, is still moving ahead by strengthening democracy.

Our youth, our scholars should take the responsibility that they will fulfill the efforts of the country in the history writing of our freedom fighters. We will bring the achievements of our society in the freedom movement and after that, in front of the world more vigorously. I would also urge people associated with art, literature, theatrical world, film industry and digital entertainment, how many unique stories are scattered in our past, explore them, bring them to life.

In Jharkhand, when Lord Birsa Munda challenged the British, the Murmu brothers led the Santhal movement. In Odisha, Chakra Bisoi waged a fight and Laxman Nayak spread consciousness through Gandhian methods.

PM Modi said that before the commencement of Amrit Mahotsav, there was also Amrit Varsha in the capital of the country and Varun Dev also blessed us. It is a privilege of all of us that we are becoming witnesses of this historic period in independent India.
