Patna: A district court in Gaya awarded life term to Rocky Yadav along with two of his friends on Wednesday. He has additionally been fined a sum of Rs 1 Lakh.

The verdict was pronounced by Gaya Additional District and Sessions Judge Sachchidanand Singh. Yadav's father Bindi Yadav has been awarded a five-year life imprisonment.

Rocky – the son of JD(U) MLC Manorama Devi – has been accused of shooting Aditya Sachdeva and the Gaya district court, on 31 August last, had convicted him and three others in the murder of the 12th standard student after he overtook the former’s SUV on the road connecting Gaya and Bodh Gaya on 7 May 2016.

Supreme Court had in October last year stayed the bail granted to Rakesh Ranjan Yadav aka Rocky, who allegedly killed a class XII student Aditya Sachdeva on May 7, 2016 in Bihar’s Gaya.

The police arrested Rocky from his father Bindi Yadav’s mixer plant in Gaya on May 10.
