Activist Trupti Desai attacked at Maha Laxmi temple in Kolhapur

Kolhapur: Trupti Desai, the leader of Bhoomata Ranragini Brigade was severely injured after she was attacked by the local women while entering the Maha Laxmi Temple in Kolhapur in Maharashtra.

A grapple started between Trupti and local women when she tried to enter the inner sanctum of the temple without following the dress code.

“Thre priest was abusing us, they said do not lether go out alive,” Trupti told mediapersons.

• Trupti was wearing a ‘salwar-kameej’ while entering the temple.
• She was taken to custody for maintaining law and order, Said Deputy SP Bharatkumar Rane.
