3 CRPF men injured in Pulwama gunfight

Srinagar: At least three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) men were reportedly injured when few militants attacked their camp on Friday evening in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh had reached the state, when the attack took place.

Injured CRPF men have been shifted to the hospital after militants succeeded to escape.

Security forces have cordoned off the entire area and started the search operation.

A senior police officer said-

  • Militants hurled grenades and then started firing at the CRPF camp Litter village of Pulwama district in the evening.
  • Guards at the camp retaliated to the militant firing after which the militants escaped under the cover of darkness.
  • Three CRPF jawans have sustained splinter injuries in this attack.

Few days back, eight CRPF jawans lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Pampore.
