3 army men martyred, 6 injured in terrorist ambush

Srinagar: At least three Indian Army jawans were martyred while six others sustained injuries as terrorists ambushed army's convoy in Shopian on Thursday.

A woman has also lost her life in the gunfire between security forces and terrorists.

“The attack resulted in injuries to six army personnel, including two officers, of whom three succumbed to their injuries,” said police.

The joint search team of 44 Rashtriya Rifles was coming back from an operation at Kungnoo Shopian when the incident took place.

Search operations are underway in order to find out the terrorists. The area has been cordoned off by the forces.
