20-year-old models body found stuffed in suitcase in Mumbai

Mumbai: Dead body of a 20-year-old aspiring model from Rajasthan, Mansi Dixit was found in a suitcase in Malad, neighbourhood of Mumbai.

The student-cum-model had recently met Muzammil Sayyed on a social media site, where they became friends.

On Sunday afternoon, the two met at Sayyed's Andheri apartment where over a heated argument accused, Sayyed, hit Mansi with a blunt weapon and strangled her to death.

He later stuffed her dead body in a suitcase and hired a cab from Andheri to Malad. Sayyed then dumped the suitcase behind bushes near Mindspace area and left the place around 3-4PM.

The incident was reported by the cab driver, who drove accused to Malad. When driver found something suspicious going on he called the police and told them that he saw accused dumping a suitcase and fleeing in a rickshaw.

After getting a tip-off police rushed to the spot and found Mansi's dead body strangled with a rope around her neck.

The police then traced down the alleged rickshaw hired by the accused with the help of a CCTV footage.

The accused confessed to killing and dumping victim's body in a suitcase.

Sangramsinh Nishandar, Deputy Commissioner of Police told media that an FIR was lodged under sections of the Indian Penal Code and the accused is to be produced before a Magistrate court on Tuesday.

The deceased body has been sent to post-mortem.
