ISRO reschedules launch of Cartosat-3, 13 commercial nano satellites to Nov 27

New Delhi: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has released satellite image of the magnificent Kumbh mela held in Prayagraj.

ISRO's Cartosat-2 series satellite that was launched on-board PSLV-C40 on 12 Janaury 2018, released this image. The image shows the ‘in and around’ areas of the Kumbh Mela. The black-and-white images mark the prominent areas of the Allahabad Fort, Triveni Sangam and the New Yamuna Bridge.

The pious Kumbh Mela, witnessed more than two crore devotees attending the event and taking Shahi Snan at the Triveni Sangam – the trident confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. Kumbh marked the participation of devotees from all around the globe who offered prayers and carried ablutions in the holy waters of Sangam.

The Government has allocated a budget of around 2,800 crore for this grand gathering. Kumbh is one of the most expensive and culturally diverse congregations which witnesses people from around the world irrespective of caste, creed, or nationality.
