Raebareli: It could be an inadvertent error or a deliberate miss but certainly an eyebrow raiser for Bharatiya Janata Party supporters and a curious case of omission for political observers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conspicuous by his absence on the life-size poster at the stage erected on the occasion of grand Parivartan Sankalp Rally addressed by BJP President Amit Shah on Saturday.

This, probably, was the only occasion when Modi’s photo was not seen on the posters at the party event of such magnitude and that too in Raebareli, the parliamentary constituency of Congress leader Ms Sonia Gandhi. It immediately became the talking point particularly in view of the recent flak, the party had received in the wake of few burning issues like cash crunch, crimes against women and bank frauds.

The poster in the backdrop of the dais had pictures of Amit Shah, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and UP BJP Chief Mahendra Nath Pandey but there was no mention of PM Modi at all, rather strange when it came to political event like this in Congress stronghold. When attention of a party spokesman was drawn towards this, he tried to evade the reply saying he had no idea about this.

Significantly, Amit Shah addressed a huge 'Parivartan Sankalp Rally' in Raebareli on Saturday which held a momentous political importance especially after the Congress Member of Legislative Council Dinesh Singh joined the BJP in the presence of Shah and other senior saffron party leaders.
