Indian Railways to increase number of RAC berths in all trains

New Delhi: In order to accommodate more passengers, Indian Railways on Monday decided to raise the number of RAC seats in all trains.

It could be mentioned here that two passengers could sit in one RAC berth.

Changes to be made:

  • Presently, there are five RAC berths in sleeper class, which would be increased to seven. (Capacity: 14 passengers)
  • Two berths in 3AC coaches would increase to four. (Capacity: eight passengers)
  • In 2AC, there would be three RAC berths in place of two. (Capacity: six passengers)
